Blended Youth Mobility on Personal development:

The partner organisation SUSHAL HUB SDRUZHENIE implemented the project’s first blended youth mobility on 4-11 of June in sunny and beautiful Varna, in Bulgaria. The activity hosted 32 youth NEETs aged 18- 30 participating, with the support of 8 selected trainers and experienced youth workers coming from each partner country (Bulgaria, Latvia, Italy and Romania). “The Blended Youth Mobility on Personal development” focused on Personal development and Rural Needs’ Analysis, in order to identify the grassroots local community needs to be catered by means of Social Entrepreneurship action.

During the first day, the participants were involved in ice-breaking and team building activities to facilitate the group composition and enhance the cultural learning capabilities. The trainers explained the Erasmus+ programme opportunities and objectives, involving a quiz game designed to keep the participants attention on numbers and statistics. The presentation included information regarding the KA2 call in particular and the Youthpass certification which would be delivered at the end of the mobility.

The second day focused on personal development and soft skills, specifically on improving self-awareness and self-knowledge, building participants identity/self-esteem, strategies or plans for reaching goals, critical thinking and sense of initiative. The trainers tailored a specific set of activities using non-formal education methodology and learn by doing approach to up-skill and build the participants persona to be prepared for the upcoming days.

The third day was built around the choices and alternatives we have to impact the local communities, framing the context problematic and attempting to bring feasible solutions. Through trainers’ facilitation, the participants developed several action plans in groups and shared their ideas with the others, spawning productive debates and suggestion to polish the group analysis and the required solutions.

The fourth day brought new skills in the full front with the development of digital campaigns. The scope behind was devising innovative initiatives addressing pressing urban challenges affecting youths in a creative way. Divided in groups, the participants developed several digital campaigns based on the action plans they had developed in the third day. The digitalization factor showed the connectivity advantage and the possibility to disseminate ideas among them and further.

The last two days closed the activity circle with the social entrepreneurship. After explaining the definition, the participant developed their own start-up ideas using the design thinking approach, empathizing and observing the problem/needs synergy in the defined contexts. With the design of the Social Entrepreneurship Workplans, the trainers distributed the certificated in the Youthpass ceremony, wishing the participants to get involved in the upcoming second mobility and proceed with their successful development in the social entrepreneurship field of interest.
